Summer Open Session Promises To Be Topically Tropical

Archive Archive

This Friday (22nd June) we hold our Summer Open Session for prospective parents and pupils, especially those looking at September 2013 entry. Among the exciting range of departmental activities and displays will be some impressive work from our 2nd year (Year 8) Geographers.

These pupils were set the challenge of building the Tropical Rainforest landscape in a box to demonstrate their learning this year. Following an exciting visit from Tropical Inc, which is our cover story in the forthcoming issue of The Lion, in groups, the pupils explored ideas and extensively planned which species and aspects of the rainforest they wanted to include.

Geography teacher Mrs Kelly Kerrigan commented: 'All the pupils have worked exceptionally hard in lessons and for homework to ensure the task was completed on time and to a high standard. The end result is terrific!'

Obviously, the Geography department will be very keen to explain more about the Tropical Rainforest at our Open Session and we understand there will also be a chance to enjoy some Tribal Face painting!

We would be delighted to welcome new families to the Open Session which starts at 5pm and closes at 8pm. Pupils are available to give guided tours around the school and there is also a chance to listen to Headmaster Mr John Watson in the EDM Theatre. For more information, please email our Admissions department.
