Parental Information and Entrance Arrangements Admission & Entrance Pupils are admitted into the Pre Prep at any time, where space permits, although most children join the school either in Kindergarten (3+) or Reception (4+). Entry into Year 2 after the academic year has started is only permitted in special circumstances. From September 2009, Cheshunt School became part of Bablake Junior School as Bablake Pre Prep. As a consequence our pupils can progress into Bablake Junior School without the need to take the normal entrance exam. We therefore have a child friendly, informal assessment procedure for pupils wanting to join our school for the fulltime, pre-school (3+) year in Kindergarten or later into Reception, Year 1 or 2. It is preferable that pupils accepted into the Pre Prep have the potential to succeed at Bablake School. To facilitate this process we like children to come into school for a morning to spend some time with their prospective classmates and to meet the teachers. The experience is planned to be a positive one; children join us from many different backgrounds and we are looking for potential. Your child's visit can take place any time over the academic year as we approach the date of their enrolment. For entry into Kindergarten this visit should take place in the Summer Term preceding entry. Once a place has been formally offered to your child a £150 deposit to secure that place will be required. Learning Support At Bablake Pre Prep we are determined to allow all of our pupils to access the full curriculum. Lessons are carefully planned to facilitate this and support is available in small groups. Our brightest children are also challenged and supported within their learning. Junior School Scholarships and Bursaries Scholarships are recognition of outstanding academic talent and potential and four are awarded at the end of Year 3. A limited number of financial bursaries for education at Bablake Junior School are also available. The award of these is dependant upon a family's financial circumstances and a child's academic potential. Bursary applications for the Junior School should be made to the Headmaster prior to Easter half-term during your child's time in Year 2. Uniform All boys and girls attending Bablake Pre Prep are required to wear the prescribed school uniform. This is detailed on the uniform list. All items may be purchased from the Coventry School Foundation Shop at Bablake, although many items may also be bought elsewhere. Fees for 2009 - 2010 Kindergarten, Reception, Years 1 & 2 £1740 per term Nursery £38.30 per full day £19.75 per session (am/pm) A minimum attendance of four sessions per week is required in Nursery. These fees are inclusive of all books and stationery. There is a facility in place for parents to pay their school fees by direct debit monthly payment. Preschool 7.45am - 8.45am £2.95 per hour or part thereof Aftercare 3.45pm - 5.45pm Funzone Holiday Club Nursery children £27.10 per day Kindergarten + £21.70 per day Registration fee £30 Payable to Coventry School Foundation to be returned with Application Form Deposit to secure a place once it has been offered £150 This deposit will be deducted from your first term's fees. Leaving Notice of intention to remove your child from school must be made by parents in writing, with at least one full school term's notice. All such letters must be addressed to the Headmaster.
