Starting a Bablake Education
"Individual attention in a happy environment" is the ethos of Bablake Pre Prep at Cheshunt. A small school with small classes enables teachers to provide exceptional care and treat every pupil as an individual. This ensures that children gain confidence and they begin to realise their own potential.
The school has high expectations of its pupils within the setting of a balanced academic and creative timetable. The curriculum is broad with the emphasis on pupils gaining a good understanding of the core subjects but also offering opportunities for them to develop other interests and talents. French, PE, Music, ICT and coaching for British Gymnastics Association awards are all included within the school day.
Bablake Pre Prep facllities were extended in 2005 and refurbished indoors and out in 2009. Pupils may enter Nursery for a minimum of four sessions at the age of two (age three from September 2010), or join the school later as family circumstances permit. The staff are highly qualified and the staff/pupil ratio is 1:4 in the Nursery and 1:8 in the Kindergarten, where a fully qualified teacher manages the children's programme. The school is registered for the provision of Early Education(Nursery) Funding, which can be offset set against Nursery and Kindergarten fees.
The school is proud of the pupils' academic and other achievements and rewards children for endeavour, progress and achievement through constant positive interaction. Positive reinforcement of commendable behaviour is further enhanced during weekly Gold Book Assemblies and our annual Prizegiving. Educational visits, concerts, visitors, sports days, summer fayres and other festival celebrations are also all part of the Pre Prep's exciting educational experience. Parents are always welcome into the school and for special events in particular.
There is more to an education than the the core formal lessons. At Bablake Pre Prep children have the opportunity to take part in many extra-curricular clubs, all taught by qualified specialists, through which they can pursue interests and further expand their horizons. Tennis, football, dance, speech and drama and individual music lessons are all options which are available.
The school also runs Preschool care, Aftercare and Funzone Holiday Clubs to help busy parents. These activities are run by our own staff so that even very young children can feel comfortable in familiar surroundings, taking part in activities run by people they know.
Food is also very important to all of us and each day there is a choice of hot dinners provided by an award-winning national catering company which also provides meals for the other Coventry School Foundation establishments. The food arrives fresh each day and there is always a vegetarian option. Parents are also welcome to provide a packed lunch for their children if they wish.
