Bablake Pre Prep at Cheshunt
Bablake Pre Prep is the route through which many pupils begin their Bablake education. Boys and girls join anytime from the age of 2 (age 3 from 2010), as space permits and prospective pupils are expected to visit the school for a morning or afternoon prior to their being offered a place. Latter progression through to Bablake Junior School is then the norm, although pupils may transfer to King Henry VIII if that is their parent's wish.
The school is situated a mile from the main Bablake site, just around the Ring Road and within easy reach of the railway station. Founded in 1909, Cheshunt firstly became part of the Coventry School Foundation in September 2007 and then formally Bablake Pre Prep in 2009.
Bablake Pre Prep is under the Headship of Mr Neil Price, Headmaster of Bablake Junior School and is overseen on a day to day basis by the Head of Pre Prep, Mrs Tracy Horton. Mrs Horton taught at the Junior School before transferring to lead the Pre Prep in 2009. Younger pupils now have access to a seamless Bablake education from 3 to 18. This means that once accepted into the Pre Prep, children no longer need to sit an examination to progress through to Bablake Junior School. Entrance to the Senior School at age 11 is through the Guaranteed Places Tests at the end of Year 5 and then the 11+ Entrance Test the following January. In 2008 and again in 2009 all Junior School pupils were offered places in the Senior School. Ten Scholarships were also awarded to Junior School pupils.
This website will provide only a flavour of the welcoming, homely and purposeful environment that is Bablake Pre Prep. We hope you will want to come and see for yourself why our children are so happy, and do so well.
