School Council
Pupils having their say!
We have a lively and active School Council at Bablake Junior School.
Every term each class elects a boy and a girl to represent them on the Council. This makes a group of sixteen children altogether. The Council meets fortnightly at lunchtimes and meetings are led by the Head Girl and Boy. Ideas of topics to discuss are brought along from classmates and are reported back after meetings.
Leading consideration for others
Year 5 and 6 Councillors organise activities, particularly to include charity events. This has enabled us to recently support the Coventry Myton Hospice “Feeling Great” Appeal and Whizzkidz, the childrens mobility charity. We raised over £2000 each for these worthwhile causes. Each year we raise approximately £5000 for charity.
Making a difference
Through the School Council it has been great to encourage pupils to think about how they can make a difference to the life of our school as well as considering those in the wider community who are less fortunate than ourselves.
