School Council
We have a lively and active School Council at Bablake Junior School. In September each class are asked to elect a boy and a girl to represent them on the Council which makes a group of sixteen children altogether. The Council meets on Thursday lunchtimes.
Ideas of topics to discuss are brought along from pupils and are reported back after meetings each week. Our Year 5 and 6 Councillors organise activities including charity events. This has enabled us to support, for instance, the Coventry Myton Hospice “Feeling Great” Appeal and we raised over £2000 for this very important charity. Each year we raise approximately £5000 for various worthy causes.
Through the School Council it has been great to encourage pupils to think about both how they can make a difference to the life of our school and for them to consider the needs of those less fortunate than themselves.
