Realising Potential Opportunity, Challenge and Realising Potentia

Junior School

Here at Bablake Junior School we have a broad vision as to what makes a good primary education.  We want children to have a future in which they have the tools to maximise their potential.

Children need to be prepared so that they can deal with both the known and the unknown.  They will need to independently develop their own solutions to unexpected challenges.  They need a blend of knowledge and skills.  Problem solving, flexibility and creativity will be essential tools in their futures; they will need to look after themselves, be determined and always be ready to learn.

Success in the Classroom

Last year's SATS results were our best ever. 95% of our Year 6 pupils achieved Level 5's in Maths, English and Science. Nationally the figure is around 30%. All of our pupils were awarded places in the Senior School and five pupils won Scholarships. When children arrive at the Junior School success is not guaranteed. Everyone works hard to ensure potential is realised.

Success on the Sports Field

Everyone at Bablake Junior School gets to represent the school in matches. We believe it is important that all the practice results in the real action of a fixture. We win most of our games at A, B , C or D team level, but win or lose everyone gains a great deal from taking part.

Our cross country teams enjoy great success, regularly winning Coventry Schools and other competitions. The sheer determination involved is heart-warming to see. All the children take part in the cross country competitions at school. They are cheered home wherever they come.

Success in Music and Drama

Only last week almost fifty of our pupils took part in the Coventry Festival of Speech and Drama. Bablake Junior pupils won three out of the four categories they entered and everyone who took part gained a great deal from the experience. We have also enjoyed being part of the film ‘Nativity' and its sequel. Drama is integral to the curriculum. All of our pupils get lessons in presenting ideas and expressing themselves. Our Orchestra and Choirs flourish. This year one of our pupils, Anna White, has been selected for the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.

Successful People

Bablake Junior School pupils are prepared for their futures. Alongside direction from home, essential life skills are emphasised in all that we do; co-operation and consideration, perseverance, honesty, integrity and creativity. We help our pupils gain confidence through a wide range of successful experience. We all want the best for our children and we want them to be the best that they can be. Within that unity of purpose we find great strength.
